We’re proud of our team regardless of awards. However, MPS Law’s Georgina Reid’s recent recognition as a finalist in the 2025 Lawyers Weekly Native Title Partner of the Year Awards is well deserved and testament to her achievements in native title.
Georgina’s recent achievements include:
- Working with the Mitakoodi and Mayi People to achieve native title recognition of exclusive and non-exclusive native title by consent determination, after 25 years of court proceedings;
- Continuing to progress a mediated outcome to resolve overlapping native title claims in the Northern Territory following decades of disputes, including resolution of connection issues with the government parties and progress on tenure issues;
- Working with an Australian renewable energy company to achieve a memorandum of Agreement with traditional owners and progress ILUA negotiations for a renewables project; and,
- Working with traditional owners to minimise damage to significant Aboriginal heritage caused by electricity infrastructure.
The awards are regarded as one of the legal profession’s most prestigious accolades and pinpoint professional development and innovation, showcasing the individuals who are leading the way in the industry.
